In the Press | Delaware Bride Magazine

I’m proud to share with you that two of my photos were recently published in the Spring/Summer 2010 issue of Delaware Bride magazine.  It’s exciting and an honor to be included in our small state’s only bridal magazine.  :)   The detailed depiction of the wedding rings is from my own mother’s wedding this past fall – Congrats Mom!  (Yep – just gave a shout out to my mom, don’t hate!)  The rings are nestled in her favorite bamboo plant, which resulted in one of my favorite ever ring shots.  The bride having her makeup applied is none other than Kirsten, who’s fabulous Winterthur Wedding was also last fall.

The Farmhouse | Mary Catherine & Chris Wedding

When I met up with Mary Catherine and Chris for their engagement session and they waded into the White Clay Creek (without prompting!), I immediately saw how down to earth they were.  Not afraid to get dirty, not afraid to show their love in front of the camera and certainly not afraid to be themselves in front of me.  Their wedding was the same, an uninhibited display of love.  It was glorious.  :)   Please enjoy some photos from their Farmhouse wedding…

The Farmhouse offered a simply breathtaking backdrop for photos….so puuuurdy.  :)

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="900" caption="Mary Catherine had a perfect idea to use these orchid centerpieces from JoAnn's Fabrics. They added the perfect pop of color to the room."][/caption]

Cannon’s Bakery did an amazing job on the cake!  A perfect blend of traditional and contemporary, if you ask me.

Toasts are actually one of my favorite parts of the wedding day as a wedding photojournalist, because they offer lots of great candid moments and expressions.

Thanks so much MC & Chris, for including me in your day and treating me not just as a vendor, but as a friend.  :)

Mary Catherine & Chris | White Clay Creek Engagement

Mary Catherine and Chris are real outdoorsy kind of people so we immediate decided to do their engagement session at White Clay Creek State Park in Newark, where they’ve spent a lot of their free time over the years.  We lucked out by just missing the rain for their session, our timing couldn’t have been more perfect.  We had a great time walking the trail and hanging out at the creek.  I’m really looking forward to photographing their wedding at The Farmhouse in September.

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="900" caption="I love natural expressions like these. They warmed up to me and the camera right away."][/caption]

You can see not only their love for each other but also how comfortable they are in nature."][/caption]

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="900" caption="These guys are adventurous! They climbed out into the creek barefoot and I didn't even have to ask them to! Of course they were very careful, Chris has experience as a park ranger so he directed Mary Catherine the safest way to go and no one fell in."]These guys are adventurous!
