Michelle & Eddie | Brandywine Park Delaware Engagement

Michelle & Eddie had a whirlwind day before they even met up with me at Brandywine Park for their engagement session.  They were such troopers!  Living in Virginia and marrying in Dover, Delaware, they try to be as productive as possible on the days they’re in the area for wedding planning.  As tired as they both were, I think they appreciated the chance to relax and chill for their photos.  I don’t do alot of posing, as it’s not really my style, rather, I tend to direct couples to an area of good light and let them be themselves.  It makes for more personal and relaxed photos and a stress-free good time.  :)   Enjoy some photos from their session below.

Kristina | Delaware Maternity Photographer

Kristina is expecting a sweet little baby girl, so we took this opportunity to capture some beautiful and artistic photos of this very special time in her life.  Maternity photos aren’t for everyone so if you’re pregnant and feeling like you don’t want any longterm evidence of the weight gain – ladies, you’re not alone.  As much as I know I’ll feel like a fat lard if I’m ever pregnant, I know that I’ll still want to document it.  My best friend refused to let me photograph her belly when she was pregnant with her first child, but I gently nudged her into letting me shoot one roll of B&W film.  6.5 years later, she now looks back and appreciates those photos and thanks me for pushing her to do it.  Even though she didn’t think she’d ever want to remember that time of her life…..she found that she does want to.  I hope these photos will inspire you to want to document your own growing baby bump.  :)

It was an honor and true privilege to document this for you, Kristina.  Thank you for your trust.  :)   I can’t wait to meet your little girl soon!

As always, more photos from this session can be found on Facebook and Flickr, where you can leave a comment on single photos and become a fan of Misty Dawn Photography.

Mary Catherine & Chris | White Clay Creek Engagement

Mary Catherine and Chris are real outdoorsy kind of people so we immediate decided to do their engagement session at White Clay Creek State Park in Newark, where they’ve spent a lot of their free time over the years.  We lucked out by just missing the rain for their session, our timing couldn’t have been more perfect.  We had a great time walking the trail and hanging out at the creek.  I’m really looking forward to photographing their wedding at The Farmhouse in September.

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="900" caption="These guys are adventurous! They climbed out into the creek barefoot and I didn't even have to ask them to! Of course they were very careful, Chris has experience as a park ranger so he directed Mary Catherine the safest way to go and no one fell in."]These guys are adventurous! Sharon & Scott | University of Delaware Engagement

Well, it appears that the University of Delaware is responsible for a number of successful local relationship pairings resulting in marriage.  Take note high school sweethearts.  ;)   Sharon & Scott chose to have their engagement session on the beautifully landscaped grounds of the University of Delaware, where they fell in love together.  This is the third UD love story that I’ve photographed in the last year!  I wonder if they should add that to their information packets they send out to prospective students.  hahaha

Sharon & Scott are very sweet people.  Scott doesn’t have to work hard to coax an ear-to-ear grin from Sharon and the laughter they share is completely contagious!  It was so much fun hanging out with them and capturing their many smiles and joy.

Mandatory shot at the kissing arches…

This tree is where Sharon & Scott would meet up with each other between classes, right outside Sharon’s old dorm.

LOVE the laughter!!

So sweet.  :)

There’s always that one shot that stands out to me as “This is truly who these people are.”  That’s this one.  It’s just so….THEM.

I adore this casual and candid moment.

We made some good use of Gore Hall and it’s spectactular architecture.

This is so a candidate for my fav from this session.

Again with the infectious smiles!!  Love it!

Gotta love pretty blue skies. :)

Sharon & Scott were married at the Mendenhall Inn not too long after we shot these photos.  Look for the wedding pix coming soon!  Can’t wait to share them with you!
