Fog in Fall

The fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

FREE Limited Edition Desktop Wallpaper

One of the core motivations of photography is to document and share a moment, portrait or art piece with the world.  So, in the spirit of sharing, I thought it would be fun to offer free limited edition desktop wallpapers each month, featuring some of my personal fine art, nature and wildlife photography.  I’ll post a new wallpaper by the 15th of each month and the previous month’s wallpaper will then be retired.  To start off this exercise in sharing, this month’s wallpaper, by popular request, is a pretty pretty peacock image, taken last month at the Philadelphia Zoo.  Hope you like it!  Enjoy!  :)

*Fine Print:  Please do not print, crop or alter this image in any way.  This image is being made available as a courtesy download, to be used as a desktop wallpaper only.  Thanks!

Saying Goodbye to Summer

On this Autumn equinox, I thought it appropriate to bid adieu to Summer by sharing some sunrise photos I took at Lewes beach over the 4th of July weekend.  My in-laws have a lovely beach home down there and as it turns out, this long weekend my husband and I took (with our doggies too!) was the first in over 2 years since we’ve visited!  It was so sad to realize this but we did enjoy ourselves immensely on this mini-vaca.  I forced myself to trek down on the beach at sunrise both mornings, which came at an impossibly early 5:20am!  Whew!  Our darling dog, Peanut, accompanied me on both trips to the water and it was the most peaceful and beautiful time I’ve ever spent.  I’m fully convinced that the beach at sunrise is the most perfect time and place to be in the world!  Sigh.  Summer, you will be missed.

The beach is so incredibly peaceful, calm and quiet at 4:30am.  Oh yes, I was here that early.  lol

I love these two in B&W, I was surprised because I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sunrise (or sunset) photo work out very well in B&W!

Since there was nobody on the beach with us that morning, I let Peanut run around off leash.  He never strays too far from my side anyhow.

and just for the fun of it, I shot a video so I could always be able to remember this calm and peaceful moment.  :)

Fine Art Photographer :: Roses & Ferns

My husband and I celebrated 5 years of marital bliss back in May and as a tradition that started on our wedding day, roses play an important part of our anniversary celebration each year.  As you can imagine, with my flare for photographing the smallest of details at weddings, flowers in my house tend to incite a bout of macro mania.  The two weeks of enjoyment the flowers brought to my home is nothing compared to the enjoyment that the photos will bring for many years.  :)   I thought I would share my art with all of you, in hopes that it will brighten your day as well.  Enjoy!
